My Mum used to complain to us as children that they could never have anything nice, or anything intact. We were the sort of kids that thought we could fix anything ourselves. Into VCR's went forks and knives to attempt to pry out stuck video cassettes, or nail polish remover was poured onto expensive rugs to remove the minute amounts of black nail polish spilled haphazardly. Now, she remembers these times not with dissaproval, but with humour, with the love of a mother that knows her child so well.

Always on the move and always looking for something to do, or touch or move or feel or destroy. Our Rio will never be bored in her own company, with her furry friends usually not far behind her trail of destruction. Yes, it can be frustrating picking up the pieces of broken objects, but at the end of the day they are just that - objects. Helping Rio learn through touch, learn value and consequence through her daily endeavours on both sides of right and wrong is what's important. To us at least.
