I have known the Hatton's for over three years now, since taking family photos of them when I first began taking photos for other people. Over the years Kristi and I have become very close, and closer more so since I was pregnant myself, with Rio. Our families have meshed into one easily, all of us sharing common interests and similar goals in life: a happy family.

Brayden is Jaxon and Indy's big brother, though this weekend he was also Rio's. Watching him take charge of his siblings, holding their hands to lead them, or marching decidedly into the waves made my heart melt, with the pride of someone who has watched him grow for many years already.

There are many people in my life I choose to acknowledge as family, whether they be related by blood, or by love.
