SAND! Muahahahaha
After about ten minutes of not hearing a squeal, or screech, or laugh, or excited thump I went investigating. After all, you can't trust silence from a toddler can you?
Upon finding Rio, after a semi-frantic search around the (fully fenced, but rather large and split leveled) backyard, I found her. Like this. Her hands and feet and legs and body and face were covered in thick, messy black sand, of which our yard and house is built on. She didn't care, so I chose not too as well (kind of). She was more than happy to sit smack bang in the middle of the sand pile she'd dug and hence created and play. She bashed sand into castle buckets and sprinkled bits over her legs. She patted small mounds she's made and rubbed sand stained hands through her hair.
She had a great time. All three times in fact: after she'd ventured back to the sand, twice after bathing quickly in the sink to avoid our house also being covered in sand. Ah bless her and her innocent 'living in the now'. Mess can be cleaned later I tell myself as she breastfeeds now and rubs messy body parts over my rather clean body parts. Looks like another shower for both of us.
