Good Morning

Rio slept in late this morning, which was good - it gave me a chance to get the housework done quickly so we could venture down to the lake for an early swim.

It was hot already. Lines of heat swirled up from the road as we walked down; beads of sweat soaked our necks. Rio sat shaded in her pram, drink bottle in hand slurping at it as she wished. Still a few campers lined the shoreline in their tents, or trailers. We people-watched as we strolled past. A Dad cooked breakfast at the BBQ and waved hello to Rio, who cooed and waved back. Down at the water little fish scuttled here and there, swimming close to investigate us as we dipped our feet into the cool, clear water. Other families dotted the lake surface, some in boats, others with paddle boards. We swam for hours as we usually do. The time passing and the water heating up from the sun. Home now; a quiet day of folding washing and watching movies. Waiting for Papa to return home from work - then perhaps we'll go back down to the lake for an afternoon dip. And to watch the sun go down.
